Anton Podbevšek Teater

The Anton Podbevšek Theater is the first professional theater in the history of Novo Mesto that has as its main challenge to meticulously and in a modern way show the antagonisms and breaks in different societies, circumstances and mentality.  Ambition and desire to show these worlds in different genres share an equal status under the assumption that relationship between the mass and elite culture should be brought closer together. The name of Anton Podbevšek the first Slovenian avant-gardist symbolically means that research, courage, concept of a new public, are the identity cutout for each author or creator that works in APT artist and theoretical framework.
