Mestno gledališče Ptuj

The beginnings of City Teater Ptuj reach into the year 1786 when the city nobility built the "Städtisches Comödienhaus".  The most prominent citizens of Ptuj, the members of the Dilettanten Geselschaft society, prepared the shows. Different theatre troupes and cultural societies called City theatre Ptuj their home over the many years since its founding. The Teater professionalised in 1995 with the help of the city authorities and the theatre group Zato. The city theatre Ptuj offers a rich cultural program every year.
